| Well, Spring has sprung, the grass is cut, the sun is shining and the players have all taken the field. Yes, it's time for another beautiful summer in the SoCal and that means baseball, BBQs, bikinis and a whole bunch of news from Porn Valley. Not to put a damper on the mood, but looking into my crystal ball, I can see the end of the fun season already.
The Braves and Yankees will be battling for another title, I will have eaten far too many hot dogs, not gotten a respectable tan, and will have declared at least four new girls proud members of the slutlet all-star team. Predictions from the porn world? Just a few, and they are nearly no brainers. By the end of summer, at least three porn stars will have left their contracts to go elsewhere.
Someone will threaten to sue both Rob Black and Luke Ford at least once and whatever news happens, AVN and HEVG will cover the summer stories you read here sometime around Thanksgiving.
This should come as no surprise, but Jasmin St. Claire is back in the news. The question is whether the gang bang queen is in or out of the jizz biz. Her ugly split from Extreme led to speculation that she may quit the biz, but stories soon surfaced that she had been courted by Elegant Angel. Instead, sources told me she actually signed a deal with Metro, but would be pursing a career in wrestling or even ultimate fighting while finishing her porn days.
In spite a source that told me he saw her sign the deal, Jasmin is now claiming that no such deal was struck and that her career in porn is done. At this point no on is really sure what she has in mind, but one thing's for sure with Jasmin, it's never boring.
I had the pleasure of attending a shoot for Wildlife Productions this month. Director Bobby Rinaldi was shooting the initial volume of the new Cherry Mirage line, 'Under the Cherry Tree.' It's an all-girl line hosted by Cherry and the first tape features a whole bunch of new talent. As always, Cherry was quite accessible and a gracious host.
I got to interview her briefly as a couple of leather clad chicks fucked each other silly on a couch behind us. Then I stuck around for Cherry's scene with a brand new girl. They fed each other fruit, then got down to some serious dildo action. After the scene, Cherry let me do my first ever on camera interview. We'll have to see how that turns out, but I know Cherry's scene will be a scorcher.
Vivid superstar Jenteal is taking a break from movies for a while. No, she isn't retiring, just getting married. Jen and her longtime boyfriend will be wed next month in Hawaii and stay there for an extended honeymoon. Let's see, beautiful beaches, sunshine and Jenteal oiled up in a bikini. Now, that's how to spend a summer vacation.
When she returns, Jen plans to do movies for another year or two before hanging it up. She'll still be well under thirty and as she told me "27 is only old in porn." Words of wisdom from the woman I have dubbed "The Gorgeous One." Best of luck to the happy couple.
With Jenteal taking a break and Janine, Tia Bella and Lexus retired for now, Vivid needed some new blood. They found it with two new contact girls, Cheyenne Silver (The artist formerly known as Wildcat) and Cassidy. Smut fans are already well acquainted with Miss Silver who has been in the biz for a couple of years, doing great work for Elegant Angel in 1998 and just recently shining in "Gutter Mouths #16" from JM Productions.
Her credentials as a dirty talking, ass screwing jizz queen don't exactly fit the typical Vivid image, but they can certainly use her total on screen heat. Cassidy is a new girl, just nineteen years old, whose looks fit with the Vivid mold quite nicely.
Another recent signee over at Wicked has her first movie out. "Wicked Temptress" is the first release to star the tall beauty. It's very nice to see them using her right away since the beautiful Temptress is an incredible performer. Now, I can only hope they give her a role in the new Serenity movie being shot this summer. (What movie you ask? This is what's called a tease my friends.)
Anyone who read AVN this month may have noticed and editorial by Mark Kernes. In it, he railed on against on line gossip, (Being careful not to name THAT guy.) but also taking shots at newsgroups likes rec.arts.movies.erotica. While I have defended Mr. Kernes' opinions in the past, and do agree that the anonymity of the net gives voice to plenty of people with too much time and too many axes to grind, I can't defend an editorial that dismisses so many knowledgeable porn fans.
No one knows better than I, that some people will sit behind a computer and shit on everything you do just for kicks. That doesn't mean that you judge a whole group of people based on the occasional personal snipe or ill advised rumor. The fact is, on line porn fans want their news fast, they want it fresh and they want it fun.
That's not something the old guard adult print outlets can give them. No longer do porn fans have to sit back and learn only what the industry wants them to know. I believe in holding off on stories until I can be fairly sure that they are true, but even so, you're going to read things here that you won't get in AVN. Mr. Kernes, instead of painting everyone with a brush tainted by the malcontents of the net, how about acknowledging that some people are doing it right.
Speaking of doing it right, (English Comp 101 rears its ugly head once again.) Nic Cramer has a new movie out. "Pure Sin" starring Linda Thoren, released by Sin City is a fantasy driven flick with Linda being led into a world of sexual exploration by Alec Metro. Nic and Linda enjoy working together a great deal, prompting talk of another project. For what company? Only time will tell.
Extreme Associates continues to diversify. With their wrestling venture (XPW) in full swing and a new line of gay videos (Man Smokers) already launched, the company that Black built is adding even more to their plate. Armageddon Productions is Tom Byron's wing of the Extreme family and just released the first batch of tapes this month. (Prompting some unsubstantiated speculation that a split may be in store somewhere down the road.) With finally some DVD titles, Extreme has fingers in so many pies we've almost forgotten the Amber Lynn comeback story.
Patrick Collins invited me to the Elegant Angel offices for a long overdue interview. I have to say, it was quite an enlightening experience. Speaking as an owner/director/porn fan, Collins had plenty to say about his former partner John Stagliano, former employees Rob Black, Tom Byron, Marc Wallice and Tiffany Mynx, Internet writers and fans, AVN, Playboy TV and other smut makers like Kahn Tusion and Max Hardcore.
Don't consider this a tease, but believe me when I tell you, this was the most revealing interview I've ever done.
Aside from the Collins interview, I also learned that Alexandra Quinn has been signed on as the new Slutwoman, picking up where Roxanne Hall left off.
The day I was in the offices, Alex was picking the cast for her movie and she promised to sit down with me when it was done. With Alex as Slutwoman,
Charlene Aspen inked as the new Buttwoman, new contract babe Tiffany Mason and Patrick Collins' latest 'Bottom Dweller' film in the final editing stages, Elegant is gearing for some big releases in the months to come.
Since we're talking about big releases, there are a couple of DVD titles that you may want to add to your summer viewing list. Heatwave has finally released the sequel to the popular "Kelly the Coed" with the aptly titled "Kelly the Coed 2- Initiation Night." With Allysin Chaynes reprising her role as the ultra cute, perpetually horny Kelly, this one really smokes.
Also new on DVD shelves is the virtual sex disc, "Tera Patrick- My Plaything." Everyone's favorite new girl lends her gorgeous face and body to another first person fuck adventure in what is sure to be one of the biggest sellers of the season.
Also new this month is "White Lightning" from VCA. This is the second film of Ginger Lynn's comeback and early word is that it is even hotter than "Torn." Ginger looks great so I'm sure this one fill fly off the shelves. There are conflicting reports that Ginger may join Stacy Valentine in Antonio Passollini's 'New Wave Hookers 6.' We can only hope. There are strong rumors as well, that NWH may be Ginger's final movie, ending her short comeback.
Finally, two porn powerhouses have joined forces on a new production. Private, the world's biggest and arguably best porn movie making company has teamed with publishing and softcore video giant Penthouse. The result of this union is a movie called "Call Girl" and is directed by award winning director Antonio Adamo. The big budget smut flick is quite impressive, combining high production values with the all out sexual intensity and great looking cast we have come to expect from Private.
