Dear DocXXX,
This might sound like a strange question, but here goes. When I climax, I always tend to cry out in pleasure. But what I say always ends up sounding silly to me, stuff like 'Oh my God!' and 'Yes, Yes, Yes!' Do you have any suggestions on how to change what I cry out in the heat of passion? I don't want my boyfriend to think I'm just a sexual cliche!
-- Verbose in Virginia
Dear Verbose,
To begin with, let me say that it's good that you say anything at all. Many folks complain to me all the time that their partners make no noise at all. Often, they can't even tell if their partner is enjoying him or herself due to the quiet! So rest assured, your boyfriend is perfectly happy hearing you shout 'Oh my God' or 'Yes.' Some folks find that adding as extra 'I'm coming' to the end of their cries gets even more energy out of their man.
Honestly, though, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Frankly, if at the moment of orgasm you're wondering about word choice, you're probably doing something wrong! Anyway, good luck and really try not to worry about it. Trust me, your man is glad to hear you scream anything at all -- as long as it's not someone else's name!
