I think this is probably a stupid question, but I don't know who else to ask without embarrassing myself. I keep hearing my buddies talk about 'getting hummers' but I have no idea what they mean. Can you clue me in?

I sure can. Over the past decade or so, 'hummer' is a term that's gradually eased its way into the sexual vocabulary of young men throughout the nation. It refers to oral sex that's accompanied by 'humming' on the part of the giver. By humming while the penis is in her throat, it adds an extra vibrating sensation to the experience. It's nothing earth-shattering or all that intense, but it's something different and enjoyable.

The term 'hummer' has been extended to mean oral sex in general over the past couple of years. Plenty of guys now will talk about 'getting hummers' from their girlfriends even if no actual humming ever took place. In fact, I would bet that most of the time it hasn't.
